Market crashes are, to the very least, frightening events for every crypto owner.
It's since 2019 that I'm involved with crypto-currencies and yet, every time, I stare at my wallet on Binance going down, and down... again and again. That's because, well, you could sell and re-buy later on at better price, but what if the market cheats you instead? What if, suddenly after you sold, the market bounces up again? Too dangerous.
I've once been an high-frequency trader on multiple platforms; sometimes you earn and sometimes you loose. I did have some good catch, and I took profit. But now, I prefer to stick to my portfolio split of, approx.:
- 30 % BNB (yes, you read it right, I love Binance ecosystem)
- 30 % BTC
- 30 % ETH
- 10% of mixed alt coins (e.g. PolkaDot) with very few stablecoins (USDC).
I'm not saying this is the ideal wallet. It's just that I got lucky enough to early buy BNB and I've stick with it. And also, I've learned that possibly is more important you total BTC value instead of the USD value of your wallet: when the market will pump again, you'd better have optimized for BTC value.
So, I'm always afraid of selling my stakes.
To buy something hoping for a pump but then loose, it's ok, it's the game.
To sell your stake waiting for more dump before entering again, but loosing because the market recovered sooner than you thought, that's horrible to feel!
Or at least, that's my politics in merit.
Yet, I'm more than ever decided to develop some AI bot to detect those crashes, not mandatorily before (which could be a too complex task), but at least during their course. That's because I'm getting bored of seeing my wallet plumbing in 1 hour, loosing lots of money (that I don't have otherwise).
Can't see anymore a Donald Trump X posts making me loose money.
How do you deal with those crashes?
