For the last four months, I've been doing my research and investing in crypto. I was like any normal person that didn't know much about crypto and only heard how volatile the market could be. I've been cleaning out my debts for the last two years and now only have student loans to pay off. In July 2019 I owed close to $47,000, and I've been aggressively paying it off, that now I should finish paying my loan by August 2021.
While the Covid-19 pandemic has been tragic for a lot of people, (me included, I lost a cousin to Covid back in April of last year), there has been some good in the stability of my income and the opportunity to save more money since we haven't been going outside much. And now with the COVID, Emergency Relief Flexibilities extended through at least Sept. 30, 2021, I don't have to in the meantime pay the loan.
So what am I doing with the money that should be going to my student loan? Good question.
And the answer is cryptocurrency.

Instead of paying off student loans once I get paid, I transfer that money to my crypto account and invest. And let's just say that I've been making a steady passive income where I could use the money I have and pay off the loan if I wanted to. But, I'm going to continue investing in this bull run and through "alt season" to increase my asset and set me up hopefully not just only to pay off my loan but perhaps greater purchases down the line.
I've been in the crypto space for four months and I've gone through the FUD and FOMO that comes along with inexperience. I've done some mistakes but for the most part, I've close to double my initial investment, so it's been a pretty good ride so far. I'll keep you posted with updates on how my journey with crypto and my student loan is going.
