How I Got Some Free Crypto

By Thlkmura | Crypto Idiot | 26 Feb 2021

Disclaimer: I cannot guarantee that the following article will help you become a crypto-millionaire, this is just what I'm currently doing to earn some free crypto on the side.

I recently got into the crypto market this year and, being the greedy monster that I am, I started researching various ways I could earn some extra tokens on the side. Here's some of the ways I've come across - they might be able to help you too!

This one is kind of self-evident - you're already on the website. You're already (probably) aware of how tips work, but maybe you haven't written a post yet? Maybe you haven't because you think your writing isn't up to par, or maybe you're worried you don't have the knowledge to talk about cryptocurrency. Give it a go anyway! As someone with the exact same thought process, I can tell you - what have you got to lose? Write about your crypto experiences, or about a topic you're interested in (movies, music, games). There's quite an extensive non-crypto library on here too!

Coinbase - Logo

Coinbase Earn and CoinMarketCap Earn

I've put these two together because they function very similarly. These two have the highest payouts of the options listed, but they also have the longest wait times (it seems). These two websites have interactive "lessons" that you complete to earn various tokens. The lessons are basically: watch video > answer question > watch video > answer question > repeat. Not too difficult, but you can find answer guides online too. The available coins change regularly, so have a look at what they're offering now.

CryptoPop - Logo

CryptoPop

This is a game available on Android. The concept's pretty simple, following in the footsteps of Candy Crush and other match-three games. The idea is to stack up bigger and bigger combos, earn bigger and bigger scores, and earn some sweet sweet Gwei. Gwei, I've found out, is the base unit for ETH. I'll be honest, the returns on this game are tiny - but I keep playing it because of the addictive nature of match-three games. Give it a go, even if it's just something you find yourself absently flicking through on the toilet.

Brave Browser - Logo

Brave Browser

Brave Browser is a Chromium web browser that awards you for surfing the web. This one is pretty awesome and is easily my second-favourite of the bunch. Brave (so far) seems to just be a better version of Chrome - it blocks all ads, speeds up web-browsing, saves bandwidth, and has a slew of privacy features. The best bit though - it'll send you notifications now and then for Brave ads which pay you directly in Basic Attention Tokens (BAT). The returns are again fairly small, but I'm basically being rewarded for what I would do anyway (and getting to do it better). It's available on Mobile and PC.

WeNano - Logo

WeNano

WeNano is a lot like Pokemon Go - using your GPS location, you can travel to different locations on the map. Once you're in the location circles, you can receive a small amount of Nano (XRB). WeNano also just works as a decent Nano wallet by itself. Probably good if you live in a capital city, not so great if you're out in the middle of nowhere. Should also be a hell of a lot more interesting when we're all allowed to travel again.

Presearch - Logo

Presearch

Presearch is a lot like Brave Browser - take a product that you already use anyway, tweak it a little bit, then offer crypto for using it. Presearch is a search engine that pays you in PRE tokens every time you make a search. You earn about 0.25 per search and can cash out at 1000. I'll let you know when I reach it, but I thought I might as well just give it a go anyway.

So again, you're not likely to make a million dollars from ANY of these things that I've written about. You can earn a few dollars without too much effort though, which is always pretty cool. It's also interesting to see how cryptocurrencies can be used to augment the current internet experience and reward those who put in the little bit of extra effort.

Know of any other cool ways to earn some crypto? Want to share with others? Let me know in the comments below!
