CYBER SAFETY
Cybercriminals are increasingly sophisticated, using new tactics and tools to get you to click on links and share information.
Many people use two-factor authentication, or multi-factor authentication (.MFA), as a security practice.
Unfortunately, “MFA bombing” is a cybersecurity threat. MFA bombing messages can arrive at any time, day or night. A legitimate request would come once and will stop if you hit “Deny.” If the requests keep coming (you get “bombed”), CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD
During an MFA bombing, the attacker uses your stolen username and password to repeatedly send ‘Duo Push’ notifications and/or phone call, text requests, hoping after multiple notifications you will give up and approve the request. Approval will give the attacker access to your account. If an attacker can MFA bomb you with repeated requests, it means your password is compromised and the attacker is trying to sign in using the stolen password.
CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD!! 
Reminders: All of us can make a difference to increase cyber safety, and not just at work also in our personal work areas and gaming areas.
- Change compromised passwords and create different passwords for each account.
- Authenticate: Activate two-factor (2FA)/multi-factor authentication (MFA) on your personal email, banking and social media accounts.
- Delete old social media and other accounts you no longer use.
- Review privacy and security settings on social media accounts and other sites at least once a year.
- Remove unused applications from mobile devices. Unused apps are like unused accounts — they store information that can be used against you if the account becomes compromised.
Reminders:
- Any time an email is flagged from an external/outside source — stop and consider before responding.
- Stay alert for emails from unfamiliar accounts.
- Be wary of suspicious urgency and language.
- Note poor punctuation, spelling or grammar.
- Look at the email address of the sender, it looks odd delete do not open.
