For those of us without extravagant riches it's always nice to think of where we would donate any extra money if we had it. The sad truth is that most with extra money wouldn't think of giving anything, hoarding is the norm. Let's be better humans and try to give anything, even just a few dollars to help our friends in Ukraine. I know that the pandemic has decimated many of our already shaky finances and put anything we once had into the hands of greedy billionaires and CEO's but let's show the world that we are above their greed and donate for the betterment of the regular people. Cryptocurrency has made this easier than ever because it is faster and more cost effective than donating fiat currency so there is no excuse not to help.
Ukraine initially rejected crypto donations but had a change of heart and policy. Now over $52 million in cryptocurrency has been donated as of today to the Ukraine government and $14 million has already been used to buy equipment food and gas. It is helping, we can see it in real time. The Ukrainian government is accepting: Polkadot, Bitcoin, Solana, Ethereum, Tether, and Dogecoin as well as NFT's with an ever expanding list. Some notable donations were $6.5 million from the sale of an NFT of the Ukrainian flag, 5.8 million from Gavin Wood, the founder of Polkadot. Another notable donation was of a crypto punk, the value of which has shot up in the recent past- it might be helpful for them to hold on to this one.
