Imagine: 2027, you have an AI assistant that you ask to organize a trip, compare and book flights and maybe organize itinerary.
To do all this in a few seconds, the AI must communicate with dozens of other web programs and computers. Often, these programs require a small payment to provide that info: 0.002 cents here, 0.005 there.
But...how does AI pay?
Not with a credit card.
Banks and their cards were invented for humans, they require KYC, they take days for a transfer and perhaps the card fees exceed these micropayments.
Software and bots, on the other hand, have no office hours, cannot sign identity cards and work at the speed of light. If two AIs have to exchange data at midnight on Sunday, traditional banking would be too slow and expensive.
This is where the magic of Blockchain comes into play.
Crypto and stablecoins are always open (24/7), zero bureaucracy and can send tiny fractions of cents at very low costs.
Coinbase (through Agentkit), Cloudflare, Stripe and other giants are already providing new models of their own factory crypto wallets to solve this problem.
What changes for us
In a few years, the vast majority of transactions on blockchain will not be made by humans but by machines. Cryptocurrencies, therefore, will become the invisible infrastructure of the web, a native currency with which computer programs will pay other computer programs while we sleep.
And when a technology becomes the invisible cog of the world economy, its real value stops being just a hypothesis.
