On July 19th, Manta Network announced on Twitter the launch of their Pacific Rollup Testnet. Manta Network is already known for other products and projects, such as Manta Wallet, Manta Pay, and their NPO launchpad of their own zkSBT's - the latter partnering with notable entities in the crypto realm like Binance, Galxe, and Linea.
Manta Pacific is self-described as an 'EVM-native modular execution layer for wide ZK applications adoption, with Manta’s universal circuit and zk interface.' (pacific.manta.network) Manta Pacific boasts lower transaction costs (up to 80% lower) as well as an already impressive user base interacting with their existing products.
The launch of the Pacific Testnet is comparable to many others you may have interacted with in the recent past. Currently, testers can add the Manta Testnet to MetaMask and claim tokens through Manta's faucet page. (Note: at the time of writing, the faucet page is occasionally giving out error messages due to high demand - check back later if you're not able to claim.)
Once you have your Goerli testnet funds (you can also claim additional testnet gETH from faucets like the Goerli faucet if you are having trouble claiming test assets through the Manta faucet), head over to the Pacific testnet bridge to make some transactions between the Goerli network and the Manta testnet.
The Manta Pacific website also has information for developers to start building dApps on the testnet, so keep your eyes peeled for announcements of future projects launching on Manta Pacific. If you're an airdrop hunter like me, Manta's Twitter and Discord would probably be good places to look for information on dapps ready to be tested over the coming weeks.
Disclaimer: I am not a financial advisor. It's your responsibility to do extensive research and consult a professional before investing.
You can also try to qualify for a potential airdrop by interacting with Manta Network's other products. You can install the Manta wallet and mint any available zkSBTs that you qualify for for free - in fact, Manta is currently dropping 2 KMA tokens into your Manta wallet for each zkSBT you mint. There's a handful of options available on their NPO launchpad - some easy ones to grab are ones that correspond to soulbound tokens you may already have from platforms such as Binance and Galxe.
Speaking of Galxe, Manta has already been offering a wide variety of OATs to collect for each of their partnerships over the last few months. Galxe tasks, points, and OATs are sometimes utilized by platforms for allocating potential airdrops as well.
I've personally been impressed with Manta's existing projects, so I'm looking forward to seeing how their testnet plays out - how about you?
