How Do I Sign Up for EtherMail?
EtherMail accounts are created simply by logging in with your Ethereum-enabled wallet of choice. While you can use a new Ethereum address if you'd like, it is worth noting that your account will not be verified until you've completed a few Ethereum transactions. While you'll still be able to collect EMC rewards, my assumption is that only verified accounts will be able to convert their EMC into $EMT - the native to-be-launched token from EtherMail.
How Do I Earn EMC Rewards from EtherMail?
Currently there are five ways users can earn EMC on EtherMail:
- Connecting your wallet to claim your EtherMail account will reward users with 50 EMC.
- Connecting a secondary email account to your EtherMail account will reward users with 200 EMC.
- Completing IMAP connection to a secondary email account (like Gmail) will reward users with 500 EMC.
- Reading emails will reward users with one EMC per email. (Though be advised there is a limit, currently, to 100 EMCs per month and 1000 EMCs total per user.)
- Referrals reward users with 250 EMC per sign-up.
What are Some of the Benefits of EtherMail?
EtherMail is hoping to address a few different challenges faced by current web2 options, such as...
- Spam & advertisements will limited by paywalls and subscription services. Users will be able to both customize their advertising preferences, and to choose which subscriptions to opt-in to. As a bonus, the advertisements users do choose to view will offer $EMT in exchange for their attention.
- Web3 projects can reach their token/NFT holders based on the Ethereum onchain activities automatically based on wallet address. (Sounds like a great way to let users know if they've qualified for an airdrop!)
- Your wallet address is your EtherMail address, so you can stay anonymous and feel confident in secure P2P communication.
