Hello fellow blockchain hustlers!!! Today I'm going to walk you through a new kind of Network, an incentivized, Decentralized, secure data/information & communications network that is of course powered by blockchain technology. We're only going to scratch at the surface of this one here as you will see i do quite often purosefully. Thus to inspire the readers own curiosity so that you all will D.Y.O.R. into the various topics & projects i will be discussing with the reader here in this series of blogs.
$NKN
As i mentioned in the above section about what the project NKN is, now we're going to discuss the token that powers this ecosystem and provides financial incentives for node operators/ miners as well as a whole host of other use cases that i will let you discover on your own of you decide to check this one out or maybe decide to set up a node.
This project is alot like storj (pronounced storage) exept storj is strictly a decentralized cloud storagenode network they are similar in the sense of how they are mined. Although technically NKN claims to use a proof of coverage consensus algorithm & storj basically rents out your extra bandwidth and hardrive space so to NKN is mined through providing your unused data, bandwidth, cloud storage space, & also requires the node to participate in the network via sharing part of your internet connection.
NKN however is invariably easier to install and deploy the node and accompanying software via a quick deploy method that allows you to simply input a single line of code I'm guessing via your computer's command prompt or via PowerShell. There are a few more very simple steps that i have not taken the time to examine yet due to the fact that my farm workers and nodes are currently deployed mining Raptoreum ($RTM), Scala ($XLA), & I've deployed the remaining bandwidth and hardrive space as storagenodes for storj. however i decided to go ahead and give my readers a sneak peek into what I'm personally planning on farming next. Now to clarify in any of my articles when i speak of farming i do not mean yield but mining as in a mining farm. I have a homemade mining farm deployed that's made of mobile devices old busted laptops and PC's and macbooks that I've saved from the scrap heap.
Anyway back to business. NKN recently collaborated with coinbase to do a learn & earn on coinbase platform in which all $NKN was claimed up pretty fast. I mean within 24 hours it was all gone. They are now open for trade etc. on coinbase as well as crypto.com. Right before i sat down to type up this post for you guys they we're still up by 25% and the charts showed how earlier in the day it had gone as high as 32% increase in price. They have been on coinbase top movers list for almost a week now.
To start mining $NKN you can find the software and other things on Github i believe. Apparently it also costs a security deposit fee of 10 NKN tokens to deploy a node but said fee is set aside into a miner bonus wallet/Account then broken up and redistributed amongst miners as part of their transaction fee rewards. Now a big downside is that there is a set token emission every year, meaning that only a certain number of tokens are mined every year despite new miners joining or any other unforseen or unfortunate circumstances.
