Korean dramas have been becoming popular for a long time, earning international fame, especially due to the availability of dubbing and subtitles in other languages, but a K drama about El Salvador is in the news these days.

The drama did not change the name of the country (El Salvador). It features a fictional character named Nashim Bupele as the President, along the lines of Nayib Bukele, the current President of El Salvador. In this drama based on making bitcoin a legal tender in El Salvador, Nashim Bupele is reported to have made an unnamed cryptocurrency a legal tender.

     The name and setup of the President might have been changed to avoid any possibility of controversy, but the President of El Salvador does not like it. Neither the name, nor the getup. He totally does not like the set-up.

K-Drams need to be more realistic when it comes to biographical characters or real people, but producers and directors don't do that.
