For a while, there have been several instances of Twitter accounts being hacked, and hacked profiles like Peter Schiff were used to propagate scams. This time, a major exchange like Gate.io's Twitter account was hacked.
The Strange Tweet
A strange communication from Gate has many puzzled, nervous, and excited. The Gate.io official account's assertion that it is a "friendly" security researcher and request to contact the Gate.io security team. Although the tweet was later deleted, no clarification was provided by Gate, making it clear that Gate's account was hacked.
That was Whitehat hacker
Gate.io is a sizable exchange, and behind Binance, many trading analysts rank it as the second largest in the world. The crypto industry could be irreparably damaged by the Gate hack. However, this hacking solely affected Twitter account, and based on the hacker's speech, it appears that he was some harmless whiteheart.
Irresponsible Gate Made Public Unhappy
Gate's platform is secure; only the Twitter account had a problem. However, Gate.io's reaction of just removing the pertinent tweet and remaining unresponsive to its users is viewed as grave irresponsibility. In October 2022, a blackhat used this method to scam people. Users are therefore unhappy with the gate.io's behaviour.
