Introduction on Coinbase acquires Spindl
Coinbase has acquired the on-chain advertising and attribution platform Spindl. At first I was wondering what strategic feature this announcement could be, but my DYOR understood the important thing hidden in it.
An alternative to traditional advertising channels
The Web3 ecosystem is currently expanding. In Web2, platforms rely heavily on advertising, but the token-based economy in Web3 has enabled platforms to become self-sufficient in line with their popularity. As Web3 continues to evolve, enterprises have to adapt and find new ways to market their products, and Coinbase's acquisition of Spindl is a solution to this.
New ecological basis of promotion
Coinbase says it will simplify on-chain discovery for Web3 builders by integrating Spindl into its Layer 2 blockchain, Base. It also makes it clear that this move will not only increase the number of viewers for the production companies but will also make it easier for Web3 developers to promote their products and attract users.
That is, the centralised platforms of Web3 will be able to earn additional revenue, and the decentralised platforms will be able to increase their base.
