The Central African Republic (CAR) becomes the second country in the world, after El Salvador, to embrace bitcoin as legal tender in April 2022, and the first country on the African continent.
Expert's Opinion
Presidenti Faustin-Archange Touadéra invited a group of seven bitcoin experts to assess the country's conditions in order to help the general public adopt bitcoin. For a week, experts examined the situation in CAR and concluded that the most significant obstacle is the split between the capital and rural regions.
The capital, Bangui, and the rural areas have distinct energy networks, with rural areas receiving little electricity and only urban residents having access to the internet and phones. Such gaps must be bridged, according to experts, in order to avert an economic divide.

Chances
There is a lot of potential in CAR because of the availability of minerals, but multiple projects are left incomplete due to the lack of funds. The African Development Bank is assisting in a variety of ways, but it is also embroiled in a disagreement with the national government over bitcoin.
Conclusion
ChangesThis is the digital age, so the growth of the digital economy will happen automatically with the digital development, the government just has to increase the digital reach of the masses.
