Laszlo Hanyecz offered to pay 10,000 bitcoins for two large veg pizzas which was accepted by a student named Jeremy Sturdivant, who bought Papa John's pizza at his own expense and received 10,000 bitcoins from Hanyecz in return. This was the first bitcoin payment accepted in a real-world transaction.
