Arbitrum DAO unhappy with GCP

The Gaming Catalyst Program was launched in March 2024 to accelerate game development and adoption on Arbitrum, it is backed by 225 million ARB tokens. It has been continuously evaluated by the Arbitrum community, which fount that its projections are not as per exceptions. Hence, it has been proposed to defund it.

Will DAO support for long term?

Although there are many issues in it, due to which major supporters including Treasure DAO have exited Arbitrum. However, a section of the Arbitrum community is supporting the long-term ecosystem for the gaming platform and is not in favor of withdraw funding from GCP based on short-term results.

Post proposal prediction

The proposal has garnered 42% support from ARB holders, with 38% opposed and 20% abstaining. The proposal is likely to pass. If the proposal passes, funds allocated to gaming projects may be reallocated to a new DeFi incentive programme.
