Hack Tether

A Bizzare Phishing Incident Rocks n Rolls the Cryptoverse

By Yugocean | Crypto Champion | 22 Nov 2024

Whatever the case may be, this does not occur on a regular basis; let's dive into it.

Hack or Joke Incident

A recent phishing case has done something unusual. A USDT whale delivered 129 million USDT to a wrong address. Following this, 90% of the money was refunded from the incorrect address within an hour, with the remaining 10% returned after four hours. This has become both a surprise and an enigma for the trackers.

A Puzzle for the Cryptoverse

Analysts’ Point: The cryptoverse is currently having fun with this. Some claim that the hackers realised the whale was so wealthy that he would hire anyone to chase them. Some argue that it was the FED's wallet, and they don't want Trump's ire.

My Point: I consider it could be a white hat who returned the money after subtracting a 10% fee, but also returned the fee, fearing that the whale would proclaim him a hacker and freeze his address via Tether.

Be Sure

Everyone should be aware that their genuine address is utilised. When conducting a transaction, do not use the address from the history; instead, thoroughly check the address; and do not be content with simply the first four and last six letters.
