When will Blockchain games blossom

When will Blockchain games blossom

I've tried out many a blockchain game and I've tried to make them work for me, I've also tried to find fun in those same games hoping that it would make me forget the fact that I am getting a very small amount of a certain digital asset, whatever it may be. And I have to say I have failed miserably, or at the very least the games have failed me and the community they are supposed to inspire.

Besides a few exceptions that attempt to at least be unique even if they aren't necessarily fun, Blockchain games are bad, like really really bad. And I've talked about this a few times already, developers and blockchain enthusiasts are hoping to bring crypto to gamers but are failing miserably mostly due to their outlook on how the dynamic is supposed to work.

For some reason, likely because these devs aren't actual game developers but rather blockchain engineers and programmers that have some sort of love for gaming, they love games but they don't understand them. They expect people to think "Oh yea, a game where I can own a digital assets! let's play it" rather than "Oh good games, and there's digital assets that I own? Wow!", and that is a big problem, one that seems easy to solve but for some reason is yet to be understood by the majority of people.

Admittedly it is likely not that they don't understand, they probably just want to take the profit that is there rather than actually attempt to make a quality game that might not take off and could lose them money... Which is understandable in a sense.

However, blockchain games can not evolve or move forward until a quality game is released, because players don't want a game that is work to earn, they want a game that is play for fun and get rewarded. The main focus of games is fun, and if there is no fun, than it is no longer a game. A fantastic quote describes video games as

Portable bundles of fun

and despite it's obvious lessening of the term it is somewhat precise in what games try to accomplish.

All of attempts up to now have only tried to replicate games that were successful once upon a time, none have tried to innovate and take it to a whole different level than what it is right now... I honestly wish I could do it, I am however neither versed enough in the blockchain to do so nor can I gather a team from thin air and a budget equaling 0.

It's obvious that it isn't impossible it's just a question of when will someone come who'll be daring enough to invest into a game that will be unique to the blockchain ecosystem. Cause Fornite sure as hell isn't gonna start selling their skins as NFTs or anything of the sort... But when that game comes, it will blow the entire vault open and we'll probably have Blockchain games pouring from our ears, from the horrible to the awesome, but we will be getting them!

That's that from me, hope you enjoyed the article, thanks for reading!
