Low quality posts clogging up Publish0x?

By Lukros76 | Crypto Banter | 24 Jul 2021

I've been meaning to talk about this for a while now and here we are, it's been an annoying state of affair to be quite frank and I'm sure that some other people here have noticed this as well. I was excited when Igor announced that the P0x team would be cracking down on low quality content and I still am as I'm hoping it's still something they are working on rather than a done deal, but it does seem to me like I may have a bit of a different view on what low quality is, and there is one other problem I've noticed...

What exactly is the goal of Publish0x? Like I get what it is, a blog platform powered by crypto that doesn't have it's own coin and all of it's tips are powered by donation pools. But... what is the ultimate goal? What type of blog is this supposed to be (the most important question honestly)? If absolutely anyone can be an author won't it be extremely hard to be discovered eventually?

Hey, Can I Ask You A Question? - IN Magazine

Now, none of these questions are really a problem in themselves currently, they just seem like question that will have to be answered, and publicly disclosed at some point for both us (the users) and the team as well. Hopefully these question have been answered already but we just don't know yet and I'd really like to cause then I'd have my mind set on the platform, for the most part.

The biggest problem within these questions however is that we don't know what type of content is valid/encouraged since I've honestly not seen many articles that have been removed (besides copied ones) or users for that matter. And I'd like to see more of this, as there are definitely ways to reduce the amount of bad content or just content no one is reading. My main proposition would be a system where a writers stats are measured and if his stats are constantly at low numbers (low views, low tips, low number of words...) their right to write are revoked and someone else should be given a chance, someone that might make interesting content instead.

No Writing Icons - Download Free Vector Icons | Noun Project

And yes, this does mean that not everyone will be able to post, but I honestly think that is a good thing, even now when we are in beta for authorship there is a lot of meaningless content clogging up the good content... How would it look when we had everyone post anything and everything they wanted... no one would gain anything and the project would cease to have a point.

There are also particular things that blatantly show bad articles... there are those that make titles so over encumbered with words and signs and CAPS LOCK that it's just annoying. It is really, really obvious that if you put too many things in your title, people will not click on it!  Furthermore they will actively avoid it, I just ignore anything that has any type of symbol or emoji or anything of the sort and I've talked to way too many people that do the same... This should legitimately be a rule, both to restrict the length of titles and the use of symbols... leave the Caps Lock part so we can still see who's stupid enough to try it...

A similar thing can be said about very short articles, tho this should be kept as a way to show who's putting 0 effort into making articles so the other proposed system of writer removal could work properly. There's a bunch of other things that annoy me within articles but these are more personal.

Now to conclude this I'd like to say that it's obviously not easy to make any of this possible or judge what is or isn't good content, yet I still do it and think it would be possible and I believe the Publish0x team will eventually come to a solution but for now there is way too many crappy articles...

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed!
