Emotions in the Crypto Investor

The human mind is an extremely powerful tool and like any source of power, it has a Light side and a Dark side.

We could even see the mind as a double-edged sword. If we manage to fully control it, we can achieve great goals. But if we lose control over the mind and it dominates us, then it can become a very dangerous enemy.

For this reason, it is vitally important to work on controlling the mind, dominating thoughts and emotions.

Emotions are the best example of how difficult it is to control the mind. It is very easy to get carried away by impulses. Throughout life we experience all kinds of emotions: happiness, sadness, fear. Even many of our decisions have been made as a result of an emotional impulse and not an objective analysis.

In the crypto market, the terms FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt) and FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) are well known, both words are a reflection of how emotions can influence the mind of the crypto investor and their decisions.

In the case of FUD, the accumulation of inaccurate information (even malicious) generates a series of negative emotions in the minds of Crypto-Investors such as fear and panic, which causes the possible sale of their Crypto-Assets in times of market declines, resulting in large losses.

As for FOMO, emotions generate feelings of anxiety and greed that can lead to impulsive purchases when prices are rising, without performing the classic DYOR (Do Your Own Research), which represents a high investment risk.

In the case of Crypto-Investors or Crypto-Enthusiasts in general, who keep their Crypto-Assets by HODLing, they need a lot of control over their emotions in order not to succumb to the psychological pressures of seeing the strong fluctuations of the crypto market.

For all these reasons, a professional goal for users of the Crypto world (Investors, Traders and Crypto Enthusiasts) should be to develop the ability to control emotions and not allow them to dominate them under any circumstances.

In short, emotional control is useful to be able to appreciate things from an objective point of view and not be carried away impulsively by emotions. If you control your emotions, your thoughts and your mind in general, you can achieve even those goals that today seem impossible.
