Is the Bitcoin ETF approval going to be such a big deal that it's not going to be your standard old, old buy the rumour, sell the news kind of event, but it's actually going to be a buy the rumour buy the news kind of event. It's going to be so fundamentally bullish that the approval and the starting of trading is just going to be the first point in which massive money then flows into the Bitcoin markets specifically. Then of course we get an Etherium ETF approval. Then of course we go beyond that and we get all the money starting to flow into altcoins as people always do.Well, I want to share some data with you in this post that makes me think the Bitcoin ETF approval is probably going to be a lot more bullish than a lot of people can actually fully contemplate at the moment. And I'm not saying it's going to happen overnight, but the implication of what's about to happen and the money that's about to come in, mind blowing stuff. There's basically $200 trillion of institutional assets sitting out there that cannot touch Bitcoin until we have an ETF product actually being approved. It's coming 90% chance according to Bloomberg analysts, that we're going to have a Bitcoin ETF in the coming few months.there's only been 2 ETFs in history to reach a billion dollars in their first few days of trading. One of those was gold. The Bitcoin ETF is going to provide those same kind of benefits that gold ETF buyers got anyway. The gold ETF back in 2004, it did a billion dollars in it's first few days of trading the Bitcoin futures ETF in 2021.
It's the second ETF product that reached a billion dollars capital in the first few days of trading. Now this is significant because there's so much demand for Bitcoin.Well, I know it's not 2021 anymore, I get that. But it's still, there's so much demand for Bitcoin.Anyway, when we got the gold ETF, it rallied by about 400% or something like that over five years now. From perspective that went from like 2.5 trillion up to like $10 trillion. In market cap terms right now, Bitcoin's half a trillion dollar asset, so we're talking about something very, very different. But we can see there is strong demand for Bitcoin because the Bitcoin futures did have such strong initial demand coming in for them.Nobody wants Bitcoin futures, and even even the fact that nobody wants them, we still had all this trading happening in the first few days.
But when we get Bitcoin spot ETFs, that changes the game.Because every time $1,000,000 is put in a Bitcoin spot ETF, that requires $1,000,000 or real Bitcoin to be bought in order to back up that ETF product. So we're going to see huge, huge inflows here, coming in from family offices, from retail people. There's like $37 trillion by the perspective here, guys, $37 trillion sitting in US retirement accounts, retail retirement accounts. How much of that is going to chase an ETF when everybody starts talking about it, when the mainstream news starts talking about all bitcoins up. And of course, Bitcoins, already the best performing asset of 2023.People are paying attention.People are paying more attention when we get an ETF product and we're going to have the private banks coming in and the hedge funds coming in, all these people, the millionaires, the billionaires, there's not enough Bitcoin to serve all of them. That's the reality.Plus, once we get Bitcoin ETFs trading, all these ETF providers, they're pretty highly incentivized to pitch the product people, because of course they make money on it, obviously.you start breaking down the numbers and billions are billions and are coming and it's going to not take that much money to move the price of Bitcoin significantly.
let's talk about billions of dollars coming to the market. This is going to happen when we get a Bitcoin ETF approved. We're seeing 5-6 year record lows of Bitcoin on exchanges, huge amounts of Bitcoin being put into cold wallets, massive amounts being held long term Bitcoin havings coming up.We've got all this, you know, geopolitical crazy stuff, right, Which is sending people in to Bitcoin and it doesn't take a lot of money to move the markets when the markets are so damn thin, $100 million can move prices right now.Half a billion dollars can move prices significantly. And this is not that much money in the grand scheme of things.
