It's that time of the year again!
Snow has already visited several times this month. In fact, they are falling as I type out this post. The holidays can be both a blessing and a curse, but I would rather focus on the positive side of it all. No traveling for me this year, so that's always a plus.
The family decided to try out something different. Instead of the usual Thanksgiving meal on the day of the holiday, we started early. That's right, we decided that we should have a homemade sushi lunch. Does that mean, we won't have the traditional turkey the next day? No. It was for a fun and interactive family/friend event.
Given I work this holiday this year, lunch is most likely the time I will get to spend with a host of people. That may sound depressing, but at least I get overtime pay and miss some drama at the same time.
The downside of having people over for Thanksgiving is that they are unlikely to show up in December. That is, if they are traveling from out of state. It's not always about the cost, but rather being with different sides of the family.
In Life
Before I get taken away for the next several days and weeks, I would like to write something. Hence, this little post here. I'm surprised there will still be bonuses given out by my employer this year. While they aren't large sums of money, I do appreciate the gesture. At least, they cover gifts for the holidays.
A funny thing happened with my medical bills paid from my HSA. I tweaked my back late August and had some doctors' visits. It turned out, I overpaid, so the clinics wrote me refund checks. I guess that's one way to receive funds from that account without penalty. It was a feel good moment in life.
College football has been getting interesting. I will likely write another post about it. In short, there is a possibility where either the Utah Utes could go to the playoffs or face off with Alabama again. I would love to see them give the Crimson Tide another demoralizing defeat. I'm no Utes fan, but I hate Alabama more.
On Steem
Prices sure fluctuated quite a bit the last several days. If you feel there's a bright future for STEEM, the current prices are not bad buys.
In other news, where have all the drama gone? Are they confined within the walls of Discord and Slack these days? Then again, the holidays in the States may have affected some of the activities on the chain.
I'm not gonna lie, I have been feeling reluctant when it comes to posting recently. I still try to write something every couple of days, but the desire has diminished over time. You might blame it on the current prices, but that's not the case for me.
My posts have had more payouts on average than the ones I had in 2018. You would think having more would motivate me to create more content. Well, it's hard when you aren't a dedicated content creator. Furthermore, I still make more working an extra hour overtime at work than I would making a post on Steem.
Other than that, it's the general laziness as the year winds down to its final days.
Happy Thanksgiving for those of you who do celebrate it, and I will pop back on the chain here and there. The holidays are about family time. I hope you all won't neglect the important things for your trivial pursuits.
