It’s been a crazy month now since my journey began, not a great month for sure and as my son said to me last night at the dinner table, I really picked a woefully bad time to start. My original thought, having seen a considerable drop before I started, prices would surely increase, how could I lose! I still believe that’s true, it’s just going to take longer to reach my final destination, than my original plan, but at least the sun is shining and the prices seem calmer to me than the start of the week.

Standard disclaimer, I’m not a financial advisor, everything I write here should not be considered financial advise, this is just a diary of my personal journey into crypto, nothing more, nothing less. Also my articles are not for the experts, more some rambling thoughts on my experience as a newcomer with a few photo’s thrown in from my photography endeavours.
Over the past few weeks I’ve highlighted an easy source of free coin, step by step I’ve now earned $28 completely free just by watching a few short videos, how easy is that.? Whilst watching the European football/soccer championship (go England, Portugal and Belgium) I watch these 2 minute videos in the background, answer the easy quiz, and each one earns a few free $. These now sit in my Coinbase account, at the moment earning 2-6% interest through staking, I’ve now earned nearly a whopping 5c in interest, ok so that part is small change, but it beats any instant access bank interest rate I’ve seen recently so maybe I need to seriously think about using this Coinbase account as a savings account.
Once again I make absolutely no apologies for my referral link, it can be another source of free $ both for me and someone who uses it, it’s good to help each other out. So if you want to seek out these rewards, head to Coinbase.
My latest free gain is thanks to Barnbridge, in fact I have to say, all my free $ education videos have been interesting.
Earlier this week my fun rating dropped from 5/10 to 2/10. As I watched, before my very eyes, a downward mountainous slope appear which I would happily have clipped on some ski’s had I been in the Alps or Rockies, but when that dream bubble popped loudly and in reality it was my coin rolling down that steep slope it was definitely not fun in any shape or form. The choice was, get out as the prices dropped and take the hit, or wait it out. Now I’m in semi-HODL mode. semi-HODL mode is a term I’ve coined (excuse the pun, aka Dad joke) for in general waiting it out for the gondola to take me up the other side of the mountain, but when possible, trying to pick up small gains when I spot them using regular 5-10% transient price drop/rise cycles of the top 100 coins.

Safe moon
This week I added https://safemoon.net to my portfolio, safe and moon are not normally two words I would put together, if they were, we would probably have a colonised base on our own moon already, but it’s going to be a long term hold. Who knows, one day, if Richard, Jeff and Elon continue to progress with their space endeavours, it might help fund my own trip to the moon.
This will probably be my last blog for a while. I wanted to start with a few messages to help those new to Crypto, hopefully the free coins I found will help someone else get started and if that’s you, good luck to you. I might update in a while or whenever I find useful information worth sharing.
My ending fun rating for this short start on my journey will be a generous 7/10, I’ve gained back some of the loses from last week, learned a lot about both crypto and myself and excited for the future. I said it needs to be fun, it has been and continues to be.
The very best of luck in your own journey, have fun with it….
