Two weeks ago I started my crypto journey, here’s what I have discovered…
My standard warning, if you are an expert at Crypto finance, you might want to skip over my rambling thoughts and read something more interesting.
I discovered Dorset has some wonderful coastline, worth a visit, this is Durdle Door

Free Coins by watching short videos
Firstly let’s address my free coins. I’ve heard there’s no such thing as a free lunch, however I have discovered a good source of free currency which would certainly pay for a hearty snack.
Rewards in Coinbase, without having to invest a single penny, I picked up $10 worth of free Stellar Lumens XLM for just watching a few short educational videos and answering some questions about them. It was the end of a busy day, by which time my tired mind was feeling somewhat frazzled already, fortunately even when I didn’t know the answers, it’s was easy to skip back through the videos to find the answer and get my reward. I initially thought it would just be an easy way to pickup some free coin for fun, but the videos were actually very interesting and I learnt a lot more about specific coins than I thought, so definitely worth the small investment of my time and I can now see if that education will help increase my free coin into a free feast.
Incidentally we could both gain a few more extra free Bitcoin from you using my Coinbase referral link to create your Coinbase account when you buy/sell crypto. At time of writing it advertises, “You'll get £7 in free Bitcoin when you buy or sell £70 or more in crypto”.
Is it fun
In my first post I said my journey into Crypto had to be fun, so I’ll set my two week benchmark on that.
A few days ago, it was definitely 4/10, some of my coins sold for a small profit, that was fun (I’m new to this, I’m not selling the farm, just starting small to learn more so small profit is fun).
But that good start to the week a lot of my other investments faired badly and turned south over the next few days, many sitting in the dreaded red zone. After a rant to my very understanding better half, I immediately stormed into my “this is for fun fund” bank account, transferred my remaining rainy day £30 to hopefully take advantage of that drop.
That felt a bit more fun, I was doing something active to repair the damage to my wallet and equally importantly my pride.
At that point my fun rating was in balance, then some coins rose back again over several days and I managed to get some profit from a few more sells whilst at a high, that was, for sure, fun!
I’m still in the red zone overall at the moment but feel that was an affordable loss which has been extremely valuable to improve my education of the market. My initial strategy, “buy low, sell higher” now seems somewhat basic, I was buying low but not low enough, prices kept dropping. I’ve still got plenty which are in HODL status until an upturn, if that happens and they all go green that will surely move me into the 10/10 strike zone of my fun rating.
So after this week the baseline is 8/10. Maybe 8.5, I picked up WRX early this morning for a good price so feeling good about that at the moment.
I’ve decide to go with a disclaimer, I’m not a financial advisor and everything I write here should not be considered financial advise, this is just a diary of my personal journey into crypto, nothing more, nothing less.
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed my rambling and above all else, keep it fun!
