I got more serious about playing the Sorare.com NFT Fantasy Football Game this new football season and will be keeping track of my personal activity in this series of posts...
Fun Game + Rewards
For the first time since I started playing this game, I finished inside of the payout spots in my main league. I continue to very much enjoy Sorare in general as a game aside from the Play2Earn aspect of it as the prizes themselves which can be won barely are worth it and there is no real prospect to 'getting rich' from this game. Buying players cheap and selling them for more later down the line by far has way more earning potential and is also quite fun.
Game Week 331 Results
For the first time so far I managed to finish well inside the payout zone in my main Europe Challenger League. I was quite fortunate how this one played out as my main goalkeeper Ilic was injured and his replacement in the cup was 30-year-old Tom Vandenberghe who Kortrijk recently acquired from Deinze. I managed to pick him up for 3.75€ and he played his first match in the 1st league now scoring 84 points being man of the match against Genk keeping a clean sheet with some much-needed saves. I did go ahead a week later selling him for 14€ assuming Ilic will be back in goal after new year. Vadis Odidja also really helped me with a total of 111 points as I have a big bonus and put him as my captain. I didn't have a main striker that was sure to start so I put Gueye in the team who only came in 10 minutes before the end of the match, Hotic also didn't perform at his best but Mata is back and should be quite good going forward.
Limited Card Reward
I guess you need some luck on the card that you get especially when it's a Tier 3 card which are considered to be the worst players. The card I earned was Innes Cameron who is a 21-year-old forward from Scottish Kilmarnock. I could dump it on the market where it only goes for around 2€ but instead I'm just keeping it in my collection hoping for the price to peak at some point in time to possibly take profit. In the meantime I will try to get his % up to a higher level by entering him probably in some training teams. It also never hurts to have a lot of cards which gives me options in case I need them.
New Player Purchases
I did buy quite a few extra players for different reasons, some I intend to use in my teams short-term especially with the new competition that will give 5€ payouts to teams that score 250 points or more. Others with an eye on my future U23 teams and some just as cheap cards looking to sell at a higher price in the future.
I picked up 2 copies of Ortwin De Wolf who is a 25-year-old 2nd goalkeeper of Antwerp. I see him as too good of a goalkeeper to be on the bench and I would be surprised if at some point in time he doesn't become 1st goalkeeper somewhere. Similar with Habib Gueye who used to be top striker for Kortrijk but now has fallen back to being a substitute. Cisse Sandra is a young talen from Club Brugge who is next in line to be a player that plays on a regular basis. I managed to pick him up for 6.76€. I did pay quite a bit for Bart Verbruggen who has been knocking on the door as the 2nd goalkeeper for Anderlecht and they also see him as the future. I did play last week as the 1st goalkeeper was injured and put up a good performance. Finally, I also picked up a copy of Mathieu Maertens who used to be a lot more expensive a couple months ago while he was a hot topic. It's just an overall solid player that is sure of his place and nearly always does well similar to Odidja, Hotic, and other midfielders that are key to their team. He once was said to be the replacement of Vanaken in Club Brugge so there is also room for him to go to a better team. I also Bought Tom Vandenberghe for 3.75€ and already sold him a week later for 14€

Conclusion
Pretty similar to everything in crypto, things are down overall as I started to get into this game at the moment the market was overheated. I continue to buy more cards and so some trades while now also having earned a prize which I believe eventually will get me in the green. I already did pay for some learning lessons that I'm able to take with me now and I just continue to have fun with the game itself each week.
