I do listen to his music and took me a while to understand the background of his characters, and when i went in to that, I realised that there is a whole universe behind his music. I did admire his rhymes and sample collection back then, but when i found out the creativity of this artist and how he connected all his characters (A.K.A.s) all together having Doom as his basic persona, he climped the scale of my favorite artist of all time not only in Rap scene but in any kind of art.
I will skip his early career in Hip Hop as a KMD member and I will jump to his new style, always covering his face so people appreciate what "rap sounds like more than rap looks like" as he said in an interview with Redbull.
His first album after the end of KMD and his brother death was "Operation:Doomsday" a very well known album (not my favourite) within the underground rap fans.

MF Doom has 2 meanings; Metal Face Doom when he sings and Metal Fingers Doom when he produces music, but who is Doom?
Doom as we know the Fantastic 4 franchise is the main villain of the series, so Daniel Dumille our artist was much influenced by that character and decided to adopt some of his features and create music based on villain. So MF Doom is basically a villain of Rap music it self as he realised that after Biggie and Tupac's death this went from bad to worst, so a masked dude comes back to the scene with a new persona that is ready to dominate and destroy the mainstream hip hop scene and bring back the original and real shit.
In his second in timeline album he adopts an other character "King Geedorah".

But what is King Geedorah? King Geedorah is a character that he adopted due to his love for the Godzilla movie franchise and its a cosmic creature that gives orders to earths villain MF Doom to destroy the world etc. I really loved this album the beats have this cosmic background and he sings much more powerful than he used to.
Then we have Viktor Vaughn a young apprentice of MF Doom full of power and hate about the system, ready to punch and destroy and waiting for orders from his master Doom. The album realesed by this persona is "Vaudeville Villain" same year as King Geetorah.

I really liked the album having the feeling that a teenager is singing with enormous amounts of power and the will to destroy. I dont have imformation for his source of inspiration of this specific charachter but its the one that's closest to me at this point of my life.
