We all are probably at least aware of the disaster that was the US elections last week. With calls to stop the count and an outpouring of memes over ever delayed calls, it's clear that the US system is less than perfect.

But, internet voting has long posed a problem - a hack could completely upend a country. And, as I'm sure many are aware, slapping a blockchain on it is not a solid solution.

That being said, there is still a lot that blockchain community governance models can teach our democratic systems. While the US electoral college is particularly out of date, the rest of the world's democracies also need an update.

In our latest report, we asked these questions, and looked at different democratic systems in Europe. Could blockchain technology find a place in our governance?

If not, hopefully, it can at least provide a blueprint for better voting models.
