Hi all,
It's been a while since I first shared a video editing trick here, and I've just started creating tutorials on my Youtube channel, so I figured I'd let the Publish0x community access this new content I'm creating as well!
In the video down below, I'm explaining how, with a few color grading tricks, you can turn some footage shot during the day into a night scene (fairly) seamlessly. It's actually not that hard, I'm using Da Vinci Resolve in the video but this trick works with any editing software that allows you to do some basic color grading.
I've used this trick on a couple videos, and it's always the same process:
1) Darken everything, while giving your shot the tint you want (blue, green...) to fit the atmosphere of your night scene.
2)"Turn on some lights", by brightening certain areas.
3) If the scene takes place outside, adding some "night ambience" sound design really helps selling it!
Here's the tutorial video:
And here are two videos that I made using that exact trick (at the end of each):
I hope this helped!
Until next time, stay creative! See you!
