Stop Terrorism!

Stop Terrorism!

By Debesh Choudhury | Writing and Life | 18 May 2025

Terrorism breaks quite often.

Reports of terror attacks are present in the news headlines almost every day.

"Twenty-six people were killed in a terror attack on April 22, 2025 in the Baisaran meadows of Pahalgam, Jammu, and Kashmir, in what is being described as the deadliest strike on civilians in the Valley in the last two decades. The victims, mostly tourists on holiday with their families, came from across India, as well as from Nepal." -- Indian Express

The Resistance Front (TRF), a shadow group of the banned Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group, has claimed responsibility for this attack. (News source: TOI, InEx, NDTV).

  • The effect of such acts of terrorism is severe on society.

  • We lose several innocent lives.

  • What purpose is served by these heinous attacks is unknown.

  • Are these actions necessary for the progress of the human civilization?

  • Who benefits from these attacks?

  • Who will answer these questions? Nobody knows.

Most of the nations condemn such attacks. Almost all political leaders also condemn the terrorists. The local governments try to combat terrorism using police and armed forces. Still, terrorism could not be uprooted from the world.

At least 26 tourists were brutally killed by the terrorists, and many were severely injured during the mass firing by them from behind the bushes.

We stand in solidarity with the victims and their families, and whoever suffered directly or indirectly due to the heinous terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, India.

We are created for living not to kill others.

  • Carnivorous animals eat other herbivorous animals.

  • Crocodiles eat other smaller animals.

  • Cats eat the rats.

  • Birds eat small insects.

These actions of killing of animals by other animals are for food and are parts of natural ecological cycles.

  • That is how Mother Nature survives.

  • But, killing of humans by humans is against the rule of the ecosystem.

Killing humans is a punishable crime.

Terrorism can't be justified for whatever reason.

As per the news, a religious terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), allegedly having a base in the territory of Pakistan, executed the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack on innocent tourists in India.

  • Can religious scriptures justify the killing of innocent humans?

  • If yes, then that is not a religion but a criminal practice of killing humans.

Can you (we) support it?

  • It is a matter of deep concern that some groups of people indirectly support terrorism!

  • Some of them write special essays elaborating on the "root cause" of terrorism as if terrorism can be justified!

  • Some organizations criticize strong military actions against the terrorists in the name of human rights violations!

  • A few others often try to dub these barbaric terrorist attacks as a "freedom movement!"

What sense of humanity do these reflect?

Nations worldwide must join hands to eradicate terrorism with both power and peace missions.

Some people say that education and development may help solve the problem of terrorism.

  • All citizens of the world should be provided food, home, health service, education, and other basic necessities of life.

  • Modern civic developments should reach all parts of the world.

  • Proper enjoyment of life may help in yielding social peace and happiness.

Surprisingly, some of the top terrorist leaders are known to have good academic backgrounds!

  • Why didn't education give them the human logic for resigning terrorism?

>> The subject of terrorism is very complex.

  • Can we hope the almighty super creator will bestow them the real sense of humanity and civilization? We should pray and hope.

And, the ruling governments must take strategic actions to solve the problems of terrorism.
