Quitting a full-time and permanent job is not easy.
-
I secured a permanent government job as a scientist after graduating with a PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
-
It was an R&D position in a Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) Laboratory.
-
The job involved innovating and developing techniques and devices in the domains of optics, photonics, optoelectronics, and electronics.
-
I was dissatisfied with the work culture and administrative bureaucracy.
-
I tried all possibilities to continue with my vision of research and innovation.
I took a couple of years' leave from my DRDO job and went to work at The University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan, on a Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship.
-
After grinding for eleven long years in DRDO, I decided to quit.
-
Quitting a permanent job with decent perks, an assured pension, and other annual benefits, such as a provident fund, etc., is not easy.
But I decided to quit DRDO to pursue my vision and passion.
But I haven't given up on my ideas of pursuing research, learning, and teaching.
-
I love to read.
-
I love to write.
-
I love to listen to music.
-
Sometimes I love to create videos.
-
I like to innovate.
-
I like to research.
I love to be with the students and faculty members.
-
I love teaching.
-
I like to learn new things.
-
I love connecting with like-minded people, online and offline.
I have not quit my ideas of positive activities for self-development, professional and personal.
I have continued to pursue my growth ideas.
Afterwards, I joined academia, taught STEM, and pursued research.
-
After quitting a permanent job in government R&D, I joined academia as a professor of electronics and communication engineering, and taught at different engineering colleges and universities.
I continued pursuing research in the cross-disciplinary areas of optics, photonics, optoelectronics, and computer science.
-
This is another chapter, and I will describe it in an upcoming article.
The main theme is how to continue in a growth mindset.
<> Wait for the next article in this series.
Never give up your growth ideas.
-
Quit all negativities and negative ideas.
-
Quit toxic and unethical workplaces as early as possible.
-
Disconnect from toxic acquaintances and toxic relatives.
Never give up your growth ideas.
-
Pursue your passion.
Build resilience and grit.

Create a community of positive humans.
Sometimes, broadcast your ideas.
