I started playing Upland in early June. 

I was bored out of my mind due to the lockdown. So I decided to try this goofy looking Llama logo having property owning blockchain game.

If you don't know, Upland is a webbrowser and app game based on the owning, buying and selling of properties in a virtual version of the real world. Currently only San Fransisco and New York are available cities, but supposedly more cities are coming soon.

I have invested a total of 20 euro's in the game so far. That is worth 20.000 UPX, the in-game currency. I own 5 properties in San Francisco and one new property in Manhattan NY. I have also been able to own and sell 3 (other) properties with a minor profit so far. I have been able to treasure hunt a few times, I found a treasure 3 times. I completed 4 of the challenges.

Overal, I have spent enough time and had a little fun with the game to voice my opinion on it.

Opinion: Fun but limited

It takes a while to get a hang of the game, especially the mechanics of treasure hunting, but overal it's pretty interesting to see your net worth grow and buy more properties. I don't live in the US, but there's something cool about owning (virtual) property there that keeps me hooked. Collecting your earnings every few days is also satisfying. It doesn't currently have any real world worth, but the idea is cool. I recommend this game if you have a few extra bucks to spend on nothing. But please don't expect huge returns on your small investment. Also, you are probably not going to be able to spend more then 10 minutes a day or so in the game. (There is a limit to treasure hunting.)

My basic tips are to start in SF as a city, because properties in NY are very expensive and there aren't any of NY challenges to complete yet (You earn UPX for those).

Also treasure hunting in the app version of the game is a bad idea...
