Crypto Fundraising Global Landscape
In 2022, the total number of crypto fundraising deals was 1982, an increase of 48.24% from 1337 in 2021; the total financing in 2022 was US$41.97B, a 42.53% increase from the previous year. 1.56% of the crypto projects are in the Undisclosed series stage. From the perspective of fundraising scale, there were 550 projects of fundraising above $10M, which has increased by 83.95%, compared to 2021. 82 projects of fundraising above $100M, which has increased 36.67%, compared to 2021. By geography, a total of 615 projects founded in the United States of America received $20.44B, becoming the country with the largest number of crypto fundraising projects in the world. Among the $10M fundraising deal projects, mainly the United States of America, United Kingdom, Singapore, and Canada.
Crypto Fundraising Deal Count by Sector
In 2022, out of the 1982 projects that were successfully financed, 742 of them were Web 3.0 projects, constituting 37.44% of the total projects. These projects raised a total of US11.17B, which is 37.44% of the total funds raised that month. This amount is US$8.19B higher than the funds raised in 2021.
Out of the 1982 Web3.0 projects, the most relevant are those related to the Gaming category, with 176 being in the Gaming category and 119 in the Metaverse category.
In 2022, a total of 288 projects involving blockchain infrastructure received $11.60B in funding, representing 27.63% of all financing.
There were 338 DeFi-related projects, making up 17.05% of all financing projects in 2022. The total amount of DeFi-related projects raised was $3.56B, representing 8.48% of the total financing, this was an increase of 60.73% compared to 2021.
In 2022, 226 CeFi projects were funded, comprising 11.4% of the total number of financing projects. Altogether, these projects raised $9.64B, which was 22.98% of the total financing in 2022, representing a -31.14% decrease from 2021.
Additionally, there were 318 NFT projects that have received a total of $5.06B in financing. Representing 12.06% of all financing, this was an increase of 47.49% compared to 2021.
