This version was from a later TV broadcast. The video is grainy with a few minor skips. The audio is tinny but generally understandable.
Plot Summary
An American archaeologist (Clement) steals an ancient treasure from a temple in India, bringing a curse upon himself. Twenty years later, his bilked investors catch up with him and demand their share of the treasure. But to get it, they'll have to spend a week in his house of mystery.
Star Power C-
The cast pulls off the comedic script with a wacky tone and over-the-top delivery, but none of them rise to the level of stars.
Chill Factor B-
The atmosphere is silly despite the horror themes, keeping the viewing experience light. However, your date will not find much here to raise the temperature.
Mental Health Check A-
This is a relaxing and humorous mystery that does not challenge the audience emotionally or philosophically. The most stressful elements are a few eye-roll moments.
Overall Grade C+
At times the film devolves into cheesy humor and bumbling detective work, but it has enough twists and funny moments to keep you interested. The director wisely limits the movie to just over an hour, before the monkey jokes wear too thin.
