It is honestly starting to get hard to keep straight the latest SBF news regarding his possible extradition to the United States to face the charges that the Federal Government has hit him with. What I find the most shocking about how he is handling it is that he is really starting to play with his life. To many, that might sound like a gross exaggeration of his situation but sadly that is not really the case. When the average person thinks about jail and prison they are thinking about it through the lens of where they are from and more often than not that would be through a Western system that is supposed to be much more "controlled" or "safe". 

That is something that is not the case in prisons across the world including within these Western nations. The issue with the Bahamas boils down to the country only having one prison for the entire nation. For obvious reasons that is a bit of an issue and not just because it is the only location but also because of the well-publicized reports about this prison. Fox Hill according to a 2021 State Department report is known to have a rat, insect, and even maggot issue not to mention the overcrowding and health issues that the prison also is grappling with. 

Representatives for the Fox Hill prison have said that the prison has been expanded and these issues have been addressed but I am not even sure there is a 50/50 chance of that being the case. The reason I highlight this is that he is supposedly being kept with 5 other people in the sick bay. That is his "isolation" from the general population and more importantly, underscores that he is anything but protected and safe rather he is very touchable if someone wants to do something to him. Being touchable and the collapse of his exchange costing so many people so much is just dangerous for him so it made a ton of sense that after being denied bail that he would decide to allow extradition to take place to honestly get him somewhere safe and secure at least compared to this place. 

Instead, though today when this waiving of the extradition was supposed to occur he changed his mind and doubled down demanding to see a copy of the Federal indictment against him. While this is completely in his rights and something that I think anyone would want being charged with the types and severity of crimes that he is the way that he went about it resulted in him really just delaying his stay in Fox Hill. Especially with the reports that came out after he was sent back to jail saying that he wanted his lawyer to proceed with extradition hearings. This is something that does not exactly make a ton of sense and the longer that he is in jail in a place like the Bahamas the more likely the awful possibility of someone in the jail attempting to take matters into their own hands. 

If you think that there is a way for you to show that you are not guilty of the crimes that have been issued against you I would expect that person to start working on that defense rather than pull off publicity stunts like this. To a ton of people, I know it just does not look good and serves as further examples of his better and smarter than others image he is having to grapple with since his media tour. At the end of the day though these types of moves do not do anything for him rather they work against him and quite possibly could result in him putting his life in danger which is not only bad for him but also for the people who have been victims of his. They would lose their day in court and see what he has to say for himself or his defense at all. Taking a step back and looking at this as a whole just does not make a ton of sense since it does not benefit him and only puts him in possibly dangerous situations.
