For the last two years, I have posted about my crypto goals here as it was something that I thought would help hold myself accountable to what I wanted to invest in and not get sidetracked by projects that would explode onto the scene. By doing this I have learned a lot and also really benefitted from reading what others were setting as their crypto goals for the year. Thanks to all of those that post their goals I have realized that in the last two years, in general, I have picked too many projects/cryptos and I need to limit it much more than I have in prior years. That being said here are the cryptos that I have selected for this year!  

The Classics BTC and ETH

I think it really goes without saying that Bitcoin is practically guaranteed to be on an investor's list. Being the OG and paving the way as it has it only makes sense in my mind to continue stacking my sats and building my bag. Last year I ended with roughly 0.225 BTC that I had built up and that number absolutely blew me away. Like many others though I did get burned by a collapse of a crypto company with mine being Hodlernaut which currently has a tad over 0.1 BTC of mine stuck on it. The biggest and quickest way I have been able to build this bag has been by utilizing my Fold debit card and purchasing various gift cards through them for stores that I frequent. I believe that as long as the price of BTC doesn't explode upwards for the first half of this year I think I will be able to hit 0.50 BTC in my cold storage wallet by the end of the year and if the price falls back into the teens level maybe up to 0.75 BTC which would be a huge win in my eyes! 

Now my ETH goal is going to be a little trickier since I do interact with the blockchain making trades and such so those fees can really come around and bite you! That being said I would be ecstatic if I could end up with 5 ETH in my cold storage wallet. Right now I have roughly 0.50 ETH across various L2s and Hot Wallets so condensing them onto only one MAYBE two L2s is going to be the biggest thing for me to knock out. Even with 5 ETH being the goal I also have 3 ETH as the minimum goal which depending on prices could be what I end up doing 

The Alts Chiliz (CHZ), The Graph (GRT), Chainlink (LINK)

As part of my goal to keep it simple and streamlined this year, I have decided to focus on further building my bags of Chiliz and The Graph while also adding Chainlink to the mix. If you have followed me for a while you would know I love Chiliz and really think that in the sports industry, they have a clear advantage over other tokens. Last year, 2022, I killed it with this crypto easily surpassing my 500 CHZ goal and so this year I want to hit the 1,750 mark with them. Now that they have relaunched in the US and have been working with regulators to add Fan Tokens for the US this could be a huge year for them. Naturally, if they make a ton of headway this goal might not be as possible as I would wish since I would be spending my Chilliz for my favorite team's Fan Tokens. The bare minimum though is going to be 1,250 CHZ something that I feel is very very doable. 

The Graph (GRT) was another one whose goal for last year I knocked out of the park. Once I hit my first 500 GRT I immediately delegated it and this is something that I wish to continue. In a perfect world, I will hit 1,500 GRT and have it delegated to 3 different indexers at 500 GRT a pop. Spreading them out will better protect me and really 500 GRT is what I would say the minimum amount is you would want to delegate at one time in the first place. 

Last but certainly not least is good old Chainlink. Before December of 2022, I had never owned LINK before because by the time I fully understood the project and came to want to invest it was up in the high $30's low $40's and I just did not see enough value in it at that level. Now with it much much lower I have begun buying and even selling it taking quick 20% profits. Now knowing how instrumental of a role it plays in crypto and the blockchain along with the vast number of partnerships even spanning outside of crypto I am not entirely sure what my end goal is for this year. I want to stake the LINK that I have however the initial 25 million pool they opened up filled up almost instantly. News is expected to come out over the next couple of months about expanding the pool and so I do plan on keeping a minimum of 20 LINK in case it does suddenly open up and I can throw my LINK into it! 

Final Thoughts 

I know myself well enough to know that there are going to be cryptos I pick up along the way and there are several that used to be on my list that no longer are because I have hit those goals and do not plan on expanding upon them anymore. Some of these goals are ones that I will be working on building up daily while others will be undertaken via trades. Most of all though trying to sort through and understand this market is the biggest key right now. Friday is going to be a huge day because of the number of options that are expiring that could dramatically increase or decrease the price of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Hopefully, there will be more clarity soon and it will come to settle on if what we just saw was a bear trap or the beginning of the next phase out of crypto winter.
