At long last Fold has revealed details of its new rewards program that it is rolling out in April. For those of you who have followed me and my posts about Fold's updates, it is safe to say that I have not been the biggest fan of their more recent changes. In my opinion Fold's recent changes had eroded the perks of being a Fold+ cardholder. Thankfully the recent update is aiming to address this and help foster/create reasons for people to choose the Fold+ option over the free Fold debit card.
With this update, there are three big changes with 2 coming exclusively to Fold+ cardholders. The first is once the update is implemented and you use your Fold+ card on a purchase you will earn a minimum of 1% back in Bitcoin automatically before you even spin the wheel! Establishing this minimum for Fold+ users is fantastic to see and alone really sets apart Fold+ from Fold's free debit card.
Up next is a new way to earn spins that are used on purchases as for every $10 spent be it on a gift card purchase, a Fold debit card purchase, or in purchasing Bitcoin itself you earn another spin! They will even be adding a progress bar to show you how much more you need to spend to get the next spin. As it is right now when you purchase a $50 gift card you earn one extra spin so this will change to earning 5 extra spins something that could come in handy especially if you are purchasing a $100 Southwest Airlines gift card as 10 extra spins is a big deal!
Finally, the last upgrade is something that I think the jury is still out on but could be a huge coup for people that use Fold! In the short little gif that they had in the post what users will be able to do is combine all of their spins into one Super Spin and this Super Spin that cost 26 spins returned 8,250 sats! With 1,000 sats, 100 sats, 50 sats, and 10 sats categories the 26 spins fall into these various categories, and say if 5 spins fall into 1,000 sats that equal 5,000 sats so it will be really interesting to see how well that new update pays out. Since spins only last 24 hours if someone had 26, that would mean they had to have spent $260ish so with 1% back that would be roughly 66,000 sats so the 8,250 bonus would be a huge bonus.
There is a lot of promise with this update and I cannot wait to see how it works out. It gives Fold+ users a reason to keep their subscription instead of saving the $10 a month and just going with the free debit card. Since earning sats back has plateaued due to the changes in sats back along with Bitcoin's huge price increase so far this year I look forward to seeing how these changes can help boost my ability to stack sats quicker again!
