Tomorrow is the first Republican Presidential debate and features 8 different Republicans running for the 2024 nomination. Without getting bogged down in the politics going on I thought it was extremely important, especially for us in on this subreddit, to pay attention to this debate since it is extremely likely that crypto will be brought up in some way, shape, or form! The reason behind this is two-fold.
The first reason I have written several posts about previously. Without going into a ton of detail we finally have one chamber of Congress, the Republican-controlled House, moving crypto legislation. While it still has a way to go before it would become law it is an enormous step in the right direction and is moving with bipartisan support.
Reason number two boils down to how 2 of the 8 people on stage have taken up the crypto cause and have been extremely pro/bullish on crypto. In several Republican-led states legislation has been passed that is designed to prevent a CBDC or anything along those lines to be enacted in their state. Several others have adopted pro-crypto rules and regulations within their states. Another politician on the stage tomorrow, Senator Tim Scott, is the Ranking Member of the Senate Banking Committee meaning he will play a pivotal role in getting crypto legislation through the Senate if it is going to happen this Congress.
Tomorrow is going to be a really insightful day to see not only those who have gone on the record about crypto speak about it again but also see how the others on the stage answer and navigate this topic and line of questions!
