Brave Browser's development over the last two years has been nothing short of incredible and the team has done a fantastic job in my opinion of expanding the offers and built-in features to their Browser. A lot of these have been tied into something that I might call an unsung hero in their Brave Wallet. When it was first launched it was an extremely basic wallet without any sort of frills but over time, especially during the DeFi craze, the Brave Team began to partner with numerous DeFi projects. Then when the Ethereum blockchain just became to expensive they kept the ETH capability but pivoted the wallet to be based on Solana.
Since this pivot they have continued to add additional functionality from adding BTC addresses to your wallet to enhancing through partnerships swaps one would want to execute. For some they have also rolled out claiming you BAT to your wallet on the Solana blockchain instead of using a custody service like Uphold or Gemini and moving more and more BAT to the Solana chain allowing people to actually do more with their BAT as even when you have several hundred BAT it is a little hard to do anything with them. Cross-Chain Swaps!
Yes, there are other wallets out there that have had this feature for some time but none of them are wallets that are natively built into the browser like Brave's wallet is. Powered by LI.FI swap/bridge intent across all major DEX aggregators and bridges is possible for all major EVM chains including ETH, BSC, Arbitrum, Base, Polygon, Optimism, zkSync Era and various supported EVM chain and Solana pairs. Importantly, and something that other options still do lack, is that the swaps/bridges are done in a single transaction reducing the number of steps and helping lower the costs. With this addition, Brave takes the next step to help further its wallet and help simplify the complexity of the current multi-chain multi-ecosystem environment.
