"I will love him, and will manifest myself to him."

The book of John is such an intimate account of the life of Jesus Christ, and I will forever be content to simply stand in any place, lonely or crowded, and pick up the book of John and begin reading from almost any point, and know that somebody's life will be positively affected, mine own included.

One of my favorite Passages to dwell in is when Jesus allowed His prayer to the Father to be recorded in John chapter 17 immediately before He left the comfort of the fellowship He had grown to know over three and a half years in the public ministry He had accomplished to willingly give His life over to be cruelly treated and lied about and falsely accused and condemned and spit on and mocked and beaten and mangled and nailed to a cross for the sake of being the perfect Lamb of God Who Was Slain From The Foundation Of The Earth.

Another of my favorite Passages to dwell in is here in chapter 14, where we read as Jesus is preparing His disciples to receive His Holy Spirit, and these are His closest disciples, yet they are still struggling to understand that Jesus is telling them He is going to give His life for them, and they are struggling to understand the concept of this Holy Spirit, because even though David wrote about the Holy Spirit about a thousand years before Jesus Christ told them about it, people back then viewed things from a much more primal and less spiritual point of view, more based on survival.  What Jesus Christ was showing them was the liberating Spirit of Truth which would guide them into all eternity and into knowing all things.  Jesus told them many things which they only partially grasped, but yet which He allowed to be recorded for the benefit of many people for generations to come.

21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14.21-27

There is so much that can be understood from this Passage.  Understand it from the basic understanding that what Jesus Christ says is intimate truth between our Creator and us His special creation.

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 14.21

Jesus Christ says He will manifest Himself to us!

This is very big, yet it is not very often that people are credibly heard to say, "I was obeying the commandments of Jesus the other day and He manifested Himself to me!"  When people do say things like this, they generally aren't including the whole "I was being obedient" part and they just say stuff like, "I saw God, man, and He was gnarly!" while not having any idea whether their visions are visions of God or of Satan because they have no spiritual understanding or anchor in the grace and truth of the Gospel.

Yet, Jesus Christ says it, and those who believe in Him have this hope that He will fulfill His words, and those who believe have found Him to be 100% faithful.

Is there any better thought to think of, other than to think of Jesus Christ manifesting Himself to us in love, as we are keeping His commandments?

Jesus Christ is Lord! This ministry is blessed by God to observe and report what is real and happening around us today, and to share God's Word among the nations, and to share the rest and contentment which comes from knowing Jesus Christ. ~ Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. 2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. Psalm 127.1-2
