The Horror of Mutism
They say young men will see visions.
And old men dream dreams.
But every day is an incision.
In the mind of unrealities.
I’m an insomniac.
So sometimes I can’t sleep.
At times I count monsters.
Instead of counting sheep.
Who is the real imposter?
As this, at times occurs, when I’m awake.
I may be with a large crowd.
But I will feel alone.
Like that horror story’s title.
It speaks all too loud.
As if more lucid than any dream.
And above all horrors.
It scares me the most…
That I have no mouth and I must scream.
