The Game of Life
If life is a game,
Then it's The Game of Life.
For now it may seem lame.
But that is something that you must tame.
Before it is you that will become gravely maimed.
You try to dodge the bullets.
Instead of embracing the pain.
You try to dodge the bullets.
So now you're driven insane.
If life is a game,
Then it's The Game of Life.
What good is joy without pain?
The pain that stalks you at night.
The pain that also imbibes a sense of fright.
When will you ask who is truly right?
As money gets more and more tight,
And no one is there for you at night.
The only player is you tonight.
Can you see and feel the double-bladed tears?
What you're doing musn't be right.
You look in the mirror.
All becomes clearer.
As you are frozen in fear.
You are now the fearer.
The monster who plays the cards.
The one who caused it all.
It glares at you.
It has the same teeth.
The ones that you use for your food to chew and gnaw.
When towards you it crawls.
Will you run or accept it?
Will you continue to reject it?
Gazing unto the stars,
Seeing something elliptic.
Another move to make.
Another stone tossed to skip across the lake.
What will you do with the pain?
What will you do when you experience the strain?
What will you do when the sun is abditive?
What cares will you give?
In this game of life,
Where the inner you must be slain.
In a land of the undying rain.
