Lovers in Winter

She stared at me with those cold eyes.

The ground was cold like there was black ice.

Fear imbibed me into tearful cries.

Her eyes were ever so ebonic.

Nothing could save her.

Not a deity nor a tonic.

I froze as she walked towards.

My shoulders were locked,

So I could only face forward.

I felt purely as if I'd meet a sanguin embrace.

As she'd prick my neck for a taste.

She wasn't the greatest person but didn't deserve to befall to such a place.

The place of destitution.

I am filled here with mere confusion.

My one beloved is hopeless and has no resolution.

Thunder strikes this befrosted land.

Enhancing the chaos that is not so grand.

I wish she were still here normally to hold my hand.

But now she is alongside the monsters nigh that gnaw and chant.

She was so much to me.

I loved her more than a boy who loved his mommy.

But now look at her… an utterly unholy zombie.
