TL;DR

  • We are happy to announce that ChainPort has been audited by the most prominent auditing firm in the world, CertiK.
  • This audit is part of our security roadmap as we strive to make ChainPort the most secure bridge in the world.
  • CertiK has a 24/7 Skynet, which notifies us of any vulnerabilities in our smart contracts.

What is CertiK?

CertiK is the leading blockchain auditing firm specializing in smart contract audits to check possible vulnerabilities and exploitable attack surfaces. We commissioned CertiK to audit ChainPort’s smart contracts, and we are happy to say we passed the audits with minimal suggestions that we already sent back, and none of them were critical.

To provide the best security for our users, we need to hire the best companies in the space for Audits and advice on the security of ChainPort.

CertiK, founded by high-end cybersecurity experts from Yale and Columbia University, has the highest standards in the cybersecurity industry.

CertiK Skynet

CertiK Skynet is a 24/7 running security intelligence engine that provides in-depth details on any smart contract the company has audited.

Skynet by CertiK is one of the best security solutions to prevent possible exploits while the contract is live on the blockchain. Skynet by CertiK is already scanning 24/7/365.

Auditing Process

CertiK auditing process is the most rigorous in the space. Examining all smart contracts used by ChainPort bridge, they use dynamic analysis, static and manual reviews on the code.

The auditing process focuses on the following considerations:

  • Testing smart contracts against both common and uncommon attack vectors.
  • They are assessing the codebase to ensure compliance with current best practices and industry standards.
  • Ensuring contract logic meets the specifications and intentions of the client.
  • Cross-referencing contract structure and implementation against similar smart contracts produced by industry leaders.
  • Through a line-by-line manual review of the entire codebase on Github

ChainPort Audit Findings

ChainPort successfully passed the CertiK audit process. However, they found minor findings in our code which we already fixed and sent back to them. Critical findings were not found, which only certificates that ChainPort contracts use the highest standard of security.

Our team also resolved minor, info, and medium findings.

About CertiK

CertiK is an edge-standards cybersecurity firm founded by Computer Science professors hailing from Yale and Columbia University, respectively, aiming to improve the security and correctness of smart contracts and blockchain protocols on a global scale.

Leveraging a seasoned team of multi-skilled engineers and security auditors, CertiK’s mission is to apply a plethora of high-level industry practices, covering the entire spectrum of static, manual, and dynamic analyses, to ensure each project subject to a formal audit is up-to-date with modern security standards while offering their services to the broader DLT community.

Over the past few years, CertiK has serviced more than 100 top-shelf blockchains, DeFi protocols, among other complex and/or custom smart contracts, including but not limited to Binance, Tera, Bancor, Shapeshift, and Blockstack.

About ChainPort

ChainPort is one of the first permissionless bridges between blockchains. Anyone can freely use ChainPort’s highly interactive user interface to port tokens over to different blockchains. Chainport only provides a bridge between Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain (BSC), but bridges to and from more networks will be added very soon.

With so many blockchains in the space right now, interoperability is considered the most important route for the future. ChainPort aims to have fully operable bridges between Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, Polkadot, and Cardano. Any token ported over from various blockchains using ChainPort is fully operable there and can interact with any of the DApps on the Networks.
