Part 6 - My favourite artists of all time: Finnish edition

Have you ever felt that you are in a party / having some fun with friends / having some drinks by yourself / having a rough time in your workplace, and all of the sudden, a wild song/artist appears, and everything around you dissapears, and there's just you and the song? well my read.cash friend, that is your favourite song/artist.

During the past days, i've shown you some of my favourites from some countries (Germany, Sweden and the UK), now is the turn of one of the cradles of heavy music: Finland. This is one of the countries who held hundreds of heavy genres (from Hard Rock to Black Metal), and here is one of my top 5 favourite bands ever, so it will be obiously here. If you have some favourite finnish band, please comment it here, and i will listen to it.

As a disclamer, i'm not doing a top x of any of the artist/bands/genre/etc in this article, as a matter of fact, there is no order of any kind here, i'm placing them as they appear in my mind and in my heart, so, if you think X should be in X spot, read again this disclamer.

There will be no order of influence, or genre, only what i feel.

1. Korpiklaani

This band actually caugh me off guard, the first time i've ever listen to them i thought it would be an extreme, brutal, blackened death metal. I was so wrong, really wrong. Korpiklaani is actually a really happy band, The music sounds like a huge folk party, just the way i like. Their music is so inmersive that if you close your eyes, you can feel you are in a tabern drinking with all of your friends.

The thing i love most of them is that, they use some instruments that are not common in the Metal genres, such as violins and accordions (the real ones, not a keyboard playing a sound of violins and accordions), so that's really attractive for me.

2. Stratovarius

The first time i've listened to them was because of my sister, she is more like a pop music kinda girl, but she had 2 exceptions: Mägo de Oz, and Stratovarius. The first song i've ever listened was Black diamond, when i was 17 years old, and i loved the voice of Timo Kotipelto (lead singer)

This is my favourite song from them: Destiny.

3. Children of Bodom (RIP Alexi Laiho)

"I don't give a f*ck if you hate me!". That was the first thing i've listen from them, when i was going inside a friend's room, and i was like... "What the f*ck? Show me that sh*t!". I inmediately fell in love with that band, i was like 15 years old, and since then, i never stopped listening to them. The talent of Erna Siikavirta and Janne Wirman (keyboards), the powerful lyrics well written and perfectly performed by Alexi laiho (rest in peace), everything was perfect for me. The best thing about this band is that you can tell they have fun doing their performances live, they have an awesome sense of humor, even as a joke did lot of covers on stage from pop songs, and also in studio, for example:

"you can't always listen to metal, you have to branch out and listen to other styles of music or else you will be depressed all the time" Alexi Laiho.

So as you can imagine, i felt deepy Alexi's death, but his songs will remain.

I love this song.
