Another NFT focused game, Koloboks, is available on Wax, it is a Tamagotchi style game where you can breed pixel based creatures, called Koloboks, which look a lot like little Space Invaders. Once you have these creatures and begin breeding, you can currently send them on adventures and enter them into Beauty Contests. More updates will likely be coming soon!
What in the world is a Kolobok? Check it out here, it is a slavic fairy tale! You can find the game here, which appears to be a bit different from its name's inspiration.
You can sign up very easily if you have a Wax account, which I have an article about here.

In order to play, you simply have to approve your Wax Wallet name and you can login and begin breeding. If you log in, you will see an empty space, unfortunately you do not start with any Koloboks. So, how can you acquire Koloboks to begin playing? You're going to need to buy two or more, or ask for two from others!

You will need to buy at least 2 Koloboks on SimpleMarket.IO, which cost about .01-.03 Cents. After this, you will be able to breed additional Koloboks, as long as you have at least 2 available. It's important to breed more than to adventure, because adventures carry the risk of losing your kolobok, so you always want to make sure you have more than you need!
You can simply search the asset market and check the box ILOVEKOLOBOK to get only Kolobok related items! Make sure you do not buy any Kolobok with a Black X on it, as these are dead.

Look at all those chickens... Rest in piece guardiao celta, you... probably weren't the best guardian/gatekeeper.

You can select this to ensure all Koloboks are alive

All lively little Koloboks ready to breed. All... named... ash. Hmm.
Easy enough to get started right? You can use some Wax or some TLM to purchase these Koloboks and hop on right away! In fact, they cost about as much as you can sell free NFTs for, minimum, and then some! So many can get these for free!
I recommend either buying 4+, or breeding until you have at least 4 Koloboks, after which time, you will be able to breed indefinitely, gaining new Koloboks which you can sell on the market place. (This costs CPU and RAM remember). I have not tried to sell any yet, but that's because they die at an alarming rate. More on that, you can also begin to send them on Adventures. Which is where they go to die. (And also get you cool stuff)

Breeding:
You can of course, breed as many of these little Koloboks as you like! These will take space on your Wax Wallet, and will cost RAM and CPU when they are bred, claimed, etc. Please note that Alienworlds is CPU heavy, whereas Koloboks is a RAM heavy game. You will run out of space eventually.
By default there is a 40% chance your breeding will be successful, otherwise, your bred Kolobok will be dead, like many others. You can try to sell these (Which will likely never happen) OR you can burn them, freeing up space for new Koloboks.
What are Adventures?
Adventures can be done for rewards, either a Common, Rare, or Epic PRIZE or about 50 Kolobucks. These Adventures take about 20 Hours, and utilize the Stats of a Kolobok to determine their speed and success rates! Completing multiple will unlock permanent bonuses on any surviving Koloboks, which will allow you to earn additional rewards.
In game, Prizes can be exchanged for Kolobucks, and Kolobucks can be used to revive dead Koloboks and improve their breeding success.
However, the earning opportunities from Prizes and Kolobucks comes from something else entirely: R Planet Staking & Alcor Exchange Liquidity Pools
Now, initially, you can only do 1 Adventure slot, but you can pay 1 Wax to gain a new slot, and that cost doubles each time. This can quickly become exponential, allowing you to gain multiple staking rewards, liquidity, and selling Kolobucks for Wax, which will allow you to do more adventures and get more rewards.
Adventures use your Koloboks stats: Stealth and Speed. I believe that Stealth plays a factor in your Kolobok's survival rate, and Speed directly affects how fast you complete an adventure, for instance, my weaker Koloboks have about 69 Speed, and take about 23 Hours for 1 Adventure, whereas my 200 Speed Koloboks complete adventures in 4-6 Hours. You cannot see your Kolobok's speed or stealth while buying, so unfortunately, you will just have to wait for a mutation that improves your stats, and then breed more with your stronger Koloboks to continue to get strong Koloboks.
So you've bred, and you've gone on Adventures, you know a bit about how stats work, and you have some Prizes or Kolobucks, what can you do with them?
Beauty Contests:
I do not recommend the beauty contest aspect of the game, as it requires Kolobucks and is simply who spends the most Kolobucks. It is definitely not worthwhile for any small-time player. Basically, whoever wins these... contests? Gets... something. I don't know because I will likely never win one. If anybody has an answer for this, could you leave it in the comments?
Ultimately, for a small player, this is just a sink for Kolobucks, and will waste them.
Reviving Koloboks:
You CAN Revive your Koloboks, but it costs 1000 Kolobucks, and with how easy it is to breed more, I also do not recommend this one unless you have a full experience Kolobok that dies or you have SERIOUS attachment to your specific Kolobok.
Staking on RPlanet:
Simply log into RPlanet/Staking with your Wax Wallet and then stake your items under KOLOBOKS. You can only stake Prizes, and you will earn your Aether hourly, you do not need to claim it each hour or even each day. It will simply sit there and accumulate.
These items will lose value over time as more people stake them. This is because they are 3rd party NFTs and RPlanet is trying to encourage users to engage with their game. As such, the Rare prizes were initially worth about 1.2, and have since dropped to 0.75.
You can place your Prizes on R Planet for about 0.5, 0.75, and 1 Aether per hour respectively for each rarity. Likewise, you can place a WAX/KBucks or TLM/KBucks Liquidity Swap to gain extra income that way as well.
Alcor Exchange Liquidity Swaps:
You can login to this via your Wax Wallet and simply click on Wax Mainnet, then choose SWAP and then +Liquidity. Here you can create new liquidity, OR add to your current Liquidity.
This will give you a percentage of all of the fees that are done via swaps of those two currency types. If you have a 0.1% Swap ratio, you will earn 0.1% of all swap fees on that currency. Keep in mind that you need to put down a 50/50 match, in Kolobucks case, 50 Kolobucks is equal to 0.12 Wax, so it is not difficult to amass some liquidity quickly in this way.
Always be aware of impermanent loss while doing this, which is losses that could happen from having one currency devalue and you receive more of that currency as a result of the liquidity fluctuations. You're essentially using your two currencies as collateral for somebody else to switch to. If everybody switches to Wax, you'll be left with mostly KBucks, and usually when lots of people are switching one currency to another, it causes one of them to tank.

This is a very simple, daily game for me. I login, I claim my Adventures and my newly bred Koloboks, and I burn my dead. Then, I do my Adventures for the day, and breed 1-3 Koloboks, depending on how low I am on my population of Koloboks.
I think the game has some minor earning opportunities, but you will not make a huge amount off of this game alone. I am using Koloboks as a convenient on-ramp to acquiring and staking R Planet elements, and I am messing with Liquidity Pools and selling my Kolobucks for Wax in order to slowly gain value and upgrade my Wax Wallet. I believe I earn about $5-8 worth of Kolobucks, Prizes, and Aether a month, however, because of the nature of staking and Aether, I could potentially see more per month as time goes on, or less, due to the way R Planet handles its 3rd Party NFT staking.
I am currently working on creating a Liquidity Pool farm and a Staking Farm that will, hopefully, become self sustaining now, while prices are dipping and market is low. We will see if this is a smart move, but for me, this is more of an experiment than an investment, as I have gained everything related to Koloboks for the cost of about 6 cents.

Initially, I am unsure if I recommend this as a supplementary income, as the currency, Koloboks, and its staking powers are all decreasing slowly over time in value. This means that, in a year, this Koloboks game could potentially be negligible, value wise. I DO think I recommend it for anybody looking for a low effort and fairly fast way to earn free WAX and slowly amass value for the purpose of upgrading their Wax Wallet, however, as far as an investment goes, this game suffers from the same issue many other blockchain games do: It needs more of a gameplay loop, more things to do, and it needs to create more use-case for its currency and its creatures. Otherwise, it will continue to lose value.
For anybody looking to increase their Wax Wallet's value by converting Kolobucks and staking Prizes for Aether in order to slowly build up CPU and RAM over time though, this may be a good idea to start on now, in order to (hopefully) have your Wax Wallet be able to have enough CPU to compete when the network gets busier as new games continue to come out on it. In short: I recommend this for anybody looking for a mostly free way to upgrade their Wax Wallet, or for anybody who sees a future where they will be gaming on using the Wax network.
