Literally less than a day ago, Tesla announced it was ready to sue customers for flipping their low-vin Cybertruck.

Mind you, the American automaker has now done a complete 180 and removed all references to 'flipping' the truck from its press material.

The Cybertruck is the most-hyped truck of the decade, and Tesla has amassed a backlog of nearly 2 million orders.

Even with the best will in the world, Tesla will take years to deliver all these trucks and because the market is what it is, and people are what they are, you can definitely expect early buyers to sell their truck for a profit.

Tesla has included a no-resale clause in the contract, which is something that generally only supercar manufacturers do, where it explicitly mentioned flipping.

In short, their statement read something along these lines: "You can't resell your Cybertruck without our written consent. If you really want to sell it, Tesla will buy it back from you, around $0.75 on the dollar."

These aren't the exact words, but you get the gist.

And now, all of that is gone.

It's unclear whether Tesla still intends to sue flippers, or if perhaps they've realised this would be impossible to do, in the real world.
