Jack Dorsey adds another interesting chapter to his post-Twitter career

Jack Dorsey, co-founder and former CEO of Twitter, has been doing some interesting stuff after leaving the company.

He founded Square, now Block, which is a company that's halfway between a tech company and a crypto-focused company.

Then he also founded Bluesky, an X/Threads rival.

And now he's revealed his latest piece of tech, Bitchat.

Bitchat is a messaging app that uses bluetooth instead of the internet to send and receive texts.

This is interesting.

Bitchat is peer-to-peer, like Bitcoin, and decentralised, and doesn't rely on servers or the internet, or even a phone number.

The obvious downside is using bluetooth means you can only send and receive messages with people who are in bluetooth range.

Dorsey says Bitchat has already successfully sent 10,000 texts in Beta.

Still, worth keeping an eye on this new tech.
