A lot of what I'm going to say may sound stupid. I feel like I should say that from the outset.

First, I'm one of those people that don't really 'trust' AI. I have serious privacy concerns, among other things. However, I'm also aware that with the way we all use technology every day, privacy is an illusion.

Second, I'd never used Siri before, until now.

I've finally activated on my phone, and I have to say, it can be helpful.

Here are some of the key things I've found and/or things I think:

• I think Apple should remove the 'Hey' part in the 'Hey Siri' command, it's just a waste of time, tbh
• Siri is marginally capable of interacting with you using different languages

Let me expand on that.

I set it up in my mother tongue, which isn't English, but I've been living abroad for a while, and most of my everyday interactions are in English, and Siri is capable of reading messages in English, too. It does it with a strong regional accent, which I think is hilarious.

But the bottom line is, it can read messages in other languages, within certain limits.

• Siri is not capable of relaying voice recordings, so if you're one of those people that communicate through voice notes, Siri won't help you

But here's why and when I realised it can be useful.

Earlier today, I was walking home with my to go coffee in one hand, and groceries in the other hand.

With Siri, I was able to communicate without using my hands. I received some messages, and Siri read them for me. And I then instructed it to send response on my behalf.

It's relatively intelligent, too.

When I said "send message to XY", Siri said "you usually communicate with XY using WhatsApp, should I use WhatsApp?"

It is marginally useful.

I still don't trust it, though.
