Elon Musk runs Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter / X, The Boring Company, X.AI and Neuralink.
Each one of these companies operates in a clear domain, with the exception of the Boring Company, which produces a bunch of different things with no real rhyme or reason.
And therefore has clear cut competitors.
Tesla is facing competition from China, SpaceX is competing with Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin, Twitter's biggest rival is probably Facebook / Instagram, X.AI has to deal OpenAI.
And then there's Neuralink, whose biggest rival is, apparently, Porsche.
Neuralink is working on brain chips that enhance body functionality. After successfully conducting trials on monkeys, Musk's company recent got approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to also conduct tests on humans.
The idea is to help regain body functionality they lost, for example eyesight.
It's a noble goal but it still sounds dystopian.
And it's amazing that the main competition comes from Porsche.
The German automaker, for whatever reason, is also working on brain chips.
And Porsche being Porsche, the first thing they want to point out is their brain chips are faster than Neuralink's.
According to Porsche, their brain chips can reach our brain's neural circuits 18 seconds faster than Neuralink's.
Ah what a time to be alive, am I right?
