France's minister of culture has decided that Concorde is now a historical monument, culturally important and relevant.
Just like the Louvre or Notre-Dame or the Eiffel Tower.
Some people might think it's crazy to include a plane on that list but I think Concorde absolutely belongs on that list.
Concorde still remains the only supersonic plane used for commercial flights.
It first flew in 1969, but commerciale operations, ie scheduled flights, only commenced in 1979.
The plane last took off in 2003.
Thanks to its cruising speed of 2,158 km/h, Concorde could fly you from London to NYC in about three hours.
Unfortunately, there were a few safety issues on top of profitability issues and ultimately that's what killed it.
