Check out the Dodge Charger Daytona Banshee: the first-ever electric muscle car

Here it is. We knew it was coming. And here it is. It's called the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT 'Banshee' Concept, and it is a fully-electric take on the all-American muscle car.

Lord, have mercy.

Levity aside, this was inevitable.

The institutional pressure to adopt EV and ditch gas-powered cars is so strong that automakers had to give in and concede defeat.

Let's start with the good news: it looks great.

Like a proper muscle car with futuristic vibes, mostly because of the headlamps and taillights, and the slim, sleek wing mirrors. The wheels look awesome, too.

There's more good news, sort of, because even though the engine is indeed electric, Dodge took a leaf out BMW's book and engineered a fake engine noise.

They even gave it a name. They call it the 'Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust', and it is apparently capable of producing 126 dB of sound, same as a V8-powered Hellcat. Fingers crossed.

The all-electric Charger is scheduled to hit the road in 2024.
